The 2009 "Endangerment Finding" by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defined six key greenhouse gases as dangerous to public health. Its repeal dismantles the foundation of federal climate policy of the last 15 years.

Barack Obama warned that this repeal would make Americans "less safe, less healthy, and less able to combat climate change."

Environmental organizations announced they would appeal to the Court.
