Forest Department: Controlled burn in Machairas Forest on March 18

The Forest Department of the Ministry of Agriculture announced that on March 18 it will conduct a controlled burn on the outskirts of Machairas Forest, in the "Maratheftis" area.

This action, as stated, is being carried out on a pilot basis for the management of combustible forest material and the prevention of forest fires.

The Forest Department assures that the procedure will be under strict supervision and there is no reason for public concern.
