A tragic incident occurred in Zimbabwe, where Blondie, a famous lion, fell victim to hunters. According to reports, the hunters managed to lure Blondie away from the protected area of Hwange National Park and kill him.

The perpetrators allegedly posed over the lion's corpse before taking the photo down from social media. The fee they allegedly received for their actions amounts to approximately 35,000 pounds (approximately 40,000 euros).

Blondie was only five years old and was being monitored by experts from the University of Oxford, who had fitted a tracking collar. Blondie's murder is reminiscent of the case of Cecil the lion in 2015, which caused global outrage and led to changes in lion protection laws in Zimbabwe.

The rates for hunting wild animals vary, with lions costing over 25,000 pounds, while leopards 'only' 7,500 pounds.
