Grand Canyon Wildfire: Hundreds of Thousands of Acres Burned

A wildfire has been raging for a month in the Grand Canyon, having burned 500,000 acres of vegetation. The fire, which started by lightning on July 4th, is only 13% contained.
More than a thousand firefighters are working on the ground and from the air to control the fire. Despite efforts, the spread of the fire remains a threat due to the dry and hot weather in Arizona.
The northern part of the Grand Canyon park has been closed to the public until October 15th. The southern part remains accessible. The 'Dragon Bravo Fire' has been described as the worst fire of the year in the USA.
Authorities were forced to evacuate approximately 500 tourists and workers from the area. The fire has destroyed 50 to 80 building infrastructures, including the Grand Canyon Lodge.
