Peru: Callao Port Closed After Containers Fall from Ship

The port of Callao, the largest in Peru, was closed for six hours on Friday after approximately 50 containers fell from a ship flying the flag of Taiwan. The accident is attributed to severe rough seas.
Port captain AmĂlcar Velásquez stated that the port's operation has been restored and vessels are patrolling the area. Velásquez assured that the containers did not contain hazardous cargo.
The ship Ever Lunar, carrying 7,000 containers, was arriving in Peru from Panama when the accident occurred.
