Paphos: Fires in Peyia and Pelathousa Under Control

Positive news regarding the two fires that broke out in the Paphos district, in Peyia and Pelathousa. According to the Department of Forests, the fire in Peyia was brought under full control at 17:30, after burning one decare of low vegetation. The extinguishing operation involved 4 people from the Department of Forests and 2 people from the Fire Service. Forces remain in the area to prevent flare-ups, while the causes are under investigation.

The Fire Service spokesperson, Andreas Kettis, announced that the fire in Pelathousa has been delimited and forces are proceeding with final extinguishing operations.
