Activists Protest London Aquarium: 'Penguins Trapped Underground'

Animal rights activists are protesting outside the Sea Life London Aquarium, alleging that 15 gentoo penguins are being held in unsuitable conditions.
Activists claim the penguins have been living in a basement space without natural light or access to an outdoor environment for 14 years. The Born Free organization asserts that at least two of the penguins have never seen the sky.
Musician and activist Feargal Sharkey has called on Merlin Entertainments CEO, Fiona Eastwood, to spend a month in the penguins' enclosure. Presenter Chris Packham described the situation as a 'flagrant injustice'.
Sea Life London Aquarium has rejected the allegations, stating that the animals' environment is designed with the help of specialist veterinarians and provides a balance of water and land.
Merlin Entertainments, which owns the aquarium, manages several theme parks in Britain.
