The Weather of the Holy Cross and Winter Predictions

Folk tradition connects the weather on the feast of the Holy Cross (September 14) with predictions for the upcoming winter. According to traditions, if the weather on the day of the Holy Cross is sunny and warm, then the winter will be mild. Conversely, if the weather is dull and cloudy, a harsher winter is expected.
It is also mentioned that the elders used the Meroménia, a traditional method of long-term weather forecasting, to predict the winter weather conditions. According to Meroménia, November is expected to be mild, December slightly cold at the beginning, while at the end of January and February there will be intense weather phenomena.
EMY forecasts mild weather for the weekend, but from Monday a change in the weather is expected with autumnal conditions and strengthening winds in the Aegean.
