Cyprus: Atmosphere Safe Despite Iran Conflicts

The atmosphere and natural environment of Cyprus remain safe from poisonous gases and chemicals resulting from the conflicts in Iran and attacks on oil installations in the Persian Gulf.
According to Chemical and Environmental Engineer Dr. Michalis Loizidis, the eight European air pollution monitoring stations, which monitor Gamma radiation, have not recorded any alarming indications. These stations are located within a distance of 1,500 kilometers between Cyprus and Iran.
Dr. Loizidis, speaking on the Alpha Ενημέρωση program, emphasized that a lack of information or the spread of false news can lead to dangerous situations, such as the unwarranted intake of iodine preparations.
He also pointed out the need to add elements to air quality measurements in Cyprus due to the country's proximity to Israel. He also mentioned that there is no specific contingency plan for citizens in the event of a toxic cloud.
