A skier was seriously injured after being attacked by a snow leopard in China while trying to take a selfie with the animal. The incident occurred near Talat village in Funyun County, northern China.

According to local reports, the woman approached the animal within 3 meters, despite warnings from authorities about its presence in the area. The snow leopard attacked the woman, biting her face. A ski instructor intervened and drove the animal away.

The skier was taken to a hospital where she is being treated in stable condition. Local authorities had issued warnings about the presence of snow leopards in the area, urging citizens not to approach them.

The incident is under investigation. China is home to the largest population of snow leopards in the world. Attacks on humans are rare, as these animals are known for their shyness.
