Keratea: Over 15,800 Acres Burned – Satellite Image

The forest fire in Keratea, Attica, burned over 15,800 acres of forest and grassland, according to an analysis of satellite data from the European Copernicus EMS mechanism. The recording was made on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

The Legion satellite recorded the extent of the damage caused by the fire that started on Friday. Firefighters remained on alert for possible flare-ups.

The fire resulted in the death of one person, while thousands of acres of forest and homes were destroyed.
