More than 1,000 deaths in Spain are attributed to the heatwave during July.
This represents an increase of over 50% compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from a state institute.
Spain, like neighboring Portugal, has been affected since Sunday by a second heatwave, which is expected to last until at least the end of the week.
