July 2025: Third Warmest on Record Globally

July 2025 has been ranked as the third warmest July ever recorded on Earth, according to the European observatory Copernicus. Despite a pause in the series of heat records, climate change continues to impact global temperatures.

Carlo Buontempo, director of Copernicus' C3S service, emphasized that the pause in records does not mean that climate change has stopped. July 2025 was only the fourth of the last 25 Julys in which the temperature increase remained below the 1.5° Celsius level compared to the pre-industrial era, specifically at 1.25° Celsius.
