The Hellenic Society for the Environment is calling for the immediate issuance of a decision to suspend building permits in protected areas of Milos. In a letter to the Ministry of Environment, the society points out the risk of creating irreversible situations that will alter the island's natural landscape.

The Local Committee of Milos of the Hellenic Society for the Environment, Mountain and Sea sent an open letter to the Ministry of Environment and the Mayor of Milos, requesting the issuance of a decision to suspend the issuance of building permits in the island's protection zones, as well as the control of permits already issued.

KESYPOTHA has unanimously approved the suspension of building permits in the Nature Protection Zones (ZPT) of Milos, as defined in the EPM 8a - South Aegean study, until the approval of the Special Urban Plan of Milos.

The Hellenic Society for the Environment emphasizes that the delay in issuing the decision poses risks to the landscape and the tourism and cultural value of Milos.
