Mauve Stinger Jellyfish Spreading to Cyclades and Corinthian Gulf - Live Map

Mauve stinger jellyfish are spreading in Greek seas, with sightings reaching the Cyclades and the Corinthian Gulf, according to the Hellenic Biodiversity Observatory.
Sightings began in July in the southern Euboean Gulf, with expansion towards the Cyclades and the Corinthian Gulf. The situation is better in Pagasitikos and the Sporades compared to June.
The Observatory published maps with confirmed sightings. Black dots show July sightings, while red shading depicts the spread. The more intense the shade, the more frequent their presence.
Advice in case of a sting:
- Remove tentacles (not with bare hands).
- Rinse with plenty of sea water.
- Apply ice or cold compresses.
- Apply cortisone cream.
- Take an antihistamine pill.
In case of severe symptoms, visit a hospital or health center.
