Hundreds of jellyfish have washed ashore on a beach in Evia, as shown in a photograph published by the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Fanis Spanos.

The incident occurred at Limenari Politikon beach, where hundreds of jellyfish were found on a rocky part of the coast. The image is reminiscent of similar situations recorded last summer, when large concentrations of jellyfish were observed in the Evian Gulf.

Experts believe that the increase in jellyfish populations may be related to environmental factors, such as rising sea temperatures and the reduction of their natural predators. The need for systematic monitoring of the phenomenon and timely information for bathers is emphasized.

The competent authorities advise caution to swimmers while bathing and are considering actions to clean the coasts, as well as scientific studies for better management of the phenomenon.
