EU Invests ā¬116 Million in Ocean and Water Restoration

The European Union (EU) has announced an investment of ā¬116 million in 13 new projects aimed at restoring the health of oceans and waters. This initiative is part of the EU's mission for oceans and waters, covering actions across the continent.
The projects focus on preserving protected marine areas, protecting migratory fish habitats, reducing the impact of fishing, and empowering local communities. Implementation will take place in critical basins such as the Black Sea, the Danube, the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, and the Arctic.
Notable projects include SEAMPHONI, DanubeLifelines, ECO-CATCH, and MarineGuardian. The investment is being made under the 'Horizon Europe' program.
