Dardanelles: Massive Fires β Smoke Reaches the Aegean Sea

Large fires are burning in the Dardanelles, with smoke reaching the Aegean Sea due to strong winds. The atmosphere in the area is suffocating, and meteorological forecasts are not optimistic.
Winds blowing at speeds up to 75 km/h are carrying smoke hundreds of kilometers away, covering much of the Aegean and reaching as far as Attica.
In Spain, firefighters are battling 14 fire fronts, with the support of the army. The affected areas are Castile and LeΓ³n, Galicia, Asturias, and Extremadura. The country's prime minister has called on citizens to be careful.
In Portugal, fires are encircling villages, with citizens watching their properties being destroyed. Fire whirls are forming in the extinguishing efforts, a rare but extremely dangerous phenomenon.
