Two young bears, Mish and Lucy, escaped from the Wildwood Trust park in the UK and broke into a food storage area, where they devoured a week's supply of honey.

According to the BBC, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon when a staff member spotted the bears outside their enclosure. Safety protocols were immediately activated, and the park was evacuated. Sixteen visitors, including children, remained in a safe area for approximately 55 minutes until the bears returned.

Mark Habben, director of the Wildwood Trust, stated that the bears were calm and the staff reacted professionally. Keepers monitored the animals' movements via security cameras.

In addition to the honey, the bears played with ropes and toys. Lucy needed a little more persuasion to return, while Mish returned without difficulty. The park emphasizes that there was no threat to visitors, and an investigation into the incident is underway.

Mish and Lucy were rescued from a snowstorm in Albania in 2019 and are housed at the Wildwood Trust.
