Suggestions for gentle, effective, and ethical methods of managing wildlife and insects in homes and gardens, instead of traps, poisons, and violent interventions.

Instead of using sticky tapes or glue traps, which can harm or kill various animals, consider alternatives.

Animals need food, water, and shelter, just like us. When they invade enclosed spaces, they should be removed preferably without violence. Check for openings and close the gaps after making sure there are no animals inside.

If you are concerned about insect bites, avoid pesticides. Do not allow water to stagnate and use Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) in stagnant water.

To prevent wild animals from settling, do not feed animals outside and close the garbage.

For ants, use bait stations. For cockroaches, also use baits or a certified exterminator. For mice, use a classic trap with instant death.

Living with wildlife requires patience, prevention, and respect.
