Tornado Destroys Greenhouses in Ilia, Greece

A powerful tornado caused extensive damage to agricultural crops in the Borsi area of Ilia, Greece. Twenty acres of greenhouses were leveled, and hundreds of olive trees were uprooted.
Alexis Panagopoulos, the owner of the unit, stated that the destruction is complete, just days before the new watermelon production. The cost of the damage is estimated at over 100,000 euros.
The president of the community, Nikos Panagopoulos, described the phenomenon as unprecedented, emphasizing that if the tornado had passed through the village, there would have been casualties.
The Municipality of Andravida-Kyllini was immediately mobilized to repair the damage to the Borsi-Varda road network, which had been cut off due to falling trees.
Traffic has been restored, and patrols continue to record and repair the damage.
