Thousands of Runners in Nicosia for the Marathon

Nicosia is expecting thousands of runners and visitors on Sunday, January 18, for the "Bank of Cyprus Nicosia Marathon, The Capital Race." The event includes various routes, from the 42 km Marathon to a 1 km kids race.

More than 8,000 entries have been recorded, with international participation from Alaska to Tanzania. There is a particular increase in the Cablenet 5 km Corporate Race, with the participation of over 100 companies.

The marathon connects sports with social contribution, with the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society as the official charity organisation. Participants contributed during their registration to support the Society's work.

The Marathon will start at 06:45 from Solomos Square, finishing at Eleftherias Square. Various roads will be closed to traffic from 5.45 am to 1.00 pm. Information on closed routes and parking areas is available on the website https://www.nicosiamarathon.com/.
