Volleyball: Rafael Koumentakis Banned for Four Years for Doping

Rafael Koumentakis has been banned for four years by EOKAN for using prohibited substances. The penalty was imposed on the 32-year-old outside hitter of Olympiacos after a doping test in a Volley League match against Panathinaikos.

Koumentakis has reportedly requested the examination of the second sample and has filed an appeal. If the penalty remains, the athlete's career effectively ends.

Olympiacos is expected to look for a replacement for Koumentakis.
