Controversy Surrounding the CFA Continues
Share on:

Criticism of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) is escalating, this time focusing on its legal departments, specifically the Sports Judge and the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC).

AEL and Omonoia have expressed strong disagreements. AEL, through its president Konstantinos Konstantinou, questions the correctness of the decisions of the Sports Judge Aristotelis Vryonidis, calling them inconsistent.

Omonoia, in a statement, disputes a DRC decision and has filed an appeal with CAS. According to the statement, the appeal concerns both the substance of the case and procedural issues, such as the fact that Jesper Jansson's lawyer, Mr. Chris Triantafyllidis, was also a lawyer for the CFA and its then president, Giorgos Koumas, creating a conflict of interest.

Omonoia questions the way the DRC makes decisions. Cypriot football is under criticism, with the CFA not reacting.
