Athletics: Cyprus at the U20 European Championships – A Review

Cypriot athletes have proven their talent at the U20 European Championships. KOEAS has consistently participated in these events since 1984, with their first participation in Cottbus in 1985.
By 2023 in Jerusalem, Cyprus had been represented in all 20 U20 European Championships. In total, five medals have been won (2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze), with 33 final appearances.
Key Achievements:
- 1991, Thessaloniki: Giorgos Loukaidis, gold in the 3,000m steeplechase (8:49.24).
- 1993, San Sebastian: Ilias Louka, silver in shot put (18.48m).
- 2005, Kaunas: Eleni Artymata, bronze in the 100m (11.74).
- 2023, Jerusalem: Valentina Savva, gold in hammer throw. Iosif Kesidis, silver in hammer throw.
