The Swedish national team has sacked its coach for the first time in its history. Dane Jon Dahl Tomasson was dismissed by the Swedish Football Association following the national team's disastrous run in the World Cup qualifiers.

The 1-0 defeat to Kosovo proved to be the final straw. The Dane's record in 18 games is nine wins, two draws and seven losses, but the recent series of three consecutive defeats proved decisive.

He became the first coach to be sacked by the Swedish national team, despite having a team with high-value players such as Isak and Gyökeres, whose attacking line costs over 200 million euros.
