The man, later identified as Piotr Szczerbek, CEO of the Polish paving company Drogbruk, took the hat and began taking selfies with his partner. The incident sparked strong reactions on social media.

Kamil Majchrzak located the child through social media and gave him another hat. Internet users condemned Szczerbek's action, calling it "disgusting" and "arrogant."
