Olympic Classes Premiere at Athens International Sailing Week 2025

The "34th Athens International Sailing Week 2025" started with difficulties due to light winds in the Saronic Gulf. Nevertheless, races were held in three Olympic classes, which are also Panhellenic championships, at the facilities of the "Athens International Sailing Center".

Two races were held in the 49er class and one each in the ILCA 6 women's and ILCA 7 men's classes. 500 boats from 14 countries are participating in the race, including Romania.

The first results are:

• 49er: Ευάγγελος Δολιανίτης – Νικόλαος Γιωτόπουλος 3rd, Γεώργιος Παπαδόπουλος - Πέτρος Κωνσταντινίδης 4th, Παναγιώτης Σωτηρίου - Παναγιώτης Μυλωνάς 6th
• ILCA 6 Women: Μαρία Παναγιώτα Παπαδάκη, Μαρία Λιλί Ζαμίτ, Βαρβάρα Πόρτολου
• IlCA 7 Men: Γεώργιος Αθανασόπουλος, Ιάσων Μεγγλίδης, Αναστάσιος Παναγιωτίδης

The race will continue on Monday and the second phase will be completed on Thursday, November 20. The third and final phase will last until Sunday, November 23.

Participants include the following countries: Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Cyprus, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, USA, India, Hong Kong, Israel, Turkey, and Greece.
