World Championships: Emmanouilidou Fails to Qualify for 100m Semifinals

Polyniki Emmanouilidou did not qualify for the semifinals of the 100 meters at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. The 22-year-old finished fourth in her heat with a time of 11.36, failing to secure one of the qualifying spots for the next round.

Emmanouilidou stated that she lost time at the start but is satisfied with her performance. She is now focusing on the 200 meters, where she aims for a new national record. "My goal is to break the 22.84, which is my own U23 national record," she said.

Emmanouilidou will compete again on Wednesday (17/9) in the 200 meters.
