Di Maria: 'Social media affected me, I had to see a psychologist'

Ángel Di María spoke about the impact of social media on his mental health and the need to seek psychological support.

In an interview on the official CONMEBOL Libertadores YouTube channel, the 38-year-old Rosario Central star stressed the importance of mental health for athletes. He advised his colleagues not to pay attention to what is said about them on social media and in the media.

'They affected me. I had to see a psychologist. In the end I realized a lot of things, it was very good for me and it helped me,' Di Maria said.

He also added: 'It is important that the player does not constantly look at what people are posting, because today you are a god and tomorrow... this allows you to be much calmer.'
