Miltiadis Tentoglou: Disappointing August, Still a Top Athlete

Miltiadis Tentoglou didn't perform at his best in the Diamond League final, finishing sixth with 7.66m. This was the third consecutive mediocre performance for the Greek Olympic champion.

Despite his recent performances, Tentoglou remains the top long jumper in the world, holding the best performance of the year with 8.46m from the European Team Championships in Madrid.

Tentoglou had a total of 11 competitions during the outdoor season, winning six of them. His competitions this year include:

  • May 23 – Lemesos: 1st with 8.27m
  • June 6 – Rome, Diamond League: 3rd with 8.10m
  • June 21 – Dessau: 1st with 8.23m
  • June 28 – Madrid, European Team Championships: 1st with 8.46m
  • July 5 – Vari, Dromia: 1st with 8.19m
  • July 19 – London, Diamond League: 2nd with 8.19m
  • July 26 – Volos, Balkan Championship: 1st with 8.07m
  • August 3 – Volos, Panhellenic Championship: 1st with 8.12m
  • August 12 – Budapest: 2nd with 8.05m
  • August 20 – Lausanne, Diamond League: 7th with 7.52m
  • August 27 – Zurich, Diamond League Final: 6th with 7.66m

Tentoglou is expected to participate in the World Championships in Tokyo.
