Lyon: Textor Resigns, Kang Becomes First Female President

A new chapter for Lyon as Michèle Kang officially took over as president of the club on Monday (June 30), a few days after the departure of John Textor. The owner of Lyon's women's team becomes the first woman in the club's history to take on this role.

Kang has appointed Mikael Gerlinger as the new CEO, with the aim of stabilizing and returning the team to Ligue 1 after their shocking relegation to Ligue 2.

"Lyon confirms today changes in its management team, appointing Michèle Kang as president of the club and CEO of Eagle Football Group and Mikael Gerlinger as CEO of the club. John Textor has resigned from his administrative positions at Olympique Lyon, including his position on the board of directors," the club said in a statement.
