Cyprus: João Mário Stuck in Ambulance Due to Regulation

An unbelievable incident occurred in Cyprus during the match between Akritas Chlorakas and Olympiakos Nicosia. The protagonist was Olympiakos player João Mário, who was injured in the 14th minute.
Due to a regulation requiring an ambulance to be present at the stadium throughout the match, Mário remained stuck inside the ambulance for approximately 30 minutes, waiting for the first half to end. The start of the second half was also delayed.
The Pancyprian Footballers Association issued a statement denouncing the lack of adequate medical infrastructure and insufficient coordination in handling injuries in Cypriot stadiums. The Association calls for the establishment of specific action protocols in case of injuries.
