France: Eurobasket Favorite Despite Center Position Concerns

France remains one of the favorites for Eurobasket 2025, despite significant absences at the center position. The "Blues" will be without Rudy Gobert, Victor Wembanyama, Mathias Lessort, and Vincent Poirier.
Head coach Frédéric Fauthoux announced the 12-man squad, which includes: Mathieu Strazel, Théo Maledon, Sylvain Francisco, Isaïa Cordinier, Élie Okobo, Zacharie Risacher, Bilal Coulibaly, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, Guerschon Yabusele, Jaylen Hoard, Alex Sarr, and Mouhammadou Jaiteh.
According to FIBA's Power Ranking, France is ranked third among contenders for the gold medal, behind Serbia and Germany. The team will premiere on August 28 in Katowice against Belgium.
