International Sports Events in Cyprus Proceed as Planned

Despite concerns due to tensions in the Middle East, international sports events in Cyprus will proceed as planned. The Cypriot government has assured that the events will take place as scheduled.

Sports authorities announced that the European Throwing Cup in Nicosia (March 14-15) and the Grand Prix Shooting (Skeet-Trap) in Limassol (March 7-16) will proceed as planned.

SEGAS confirmed Greece's participation in the European Throwing Cup but is monitoring developments. Two athletes, Giannis Korakidis and Dimitris Pavlidis, have returned to Greece.

The Cypriot shooting federation assured that there is no cause for concern regarding safety in Cyprus.
