Panathinaikos lost 3-2 to Vallefoglia in Italy in the first leg of the Challenge Cup final. The 'Greens' equalized twice but succumbed in the tie-break.

Despite the defeat, Panathinaikos maintains hopes of winning the trophy. In the return match, to be held on March 19 in Glyfada, they need a 3-0 or 3-1 victory to win the title. In case of a 3-2 victory, a golden set will follow.

In the tie-break, Vallefoglia prevailed with Erblira Bici scoring 32 points. This was Panathinaikos' first defeat in the competition.

Mikaya White was injured during the match, and her condition will be assessed after the team returns to Athens.
