AIPS: Armand Duplantis and Aitana Bonmati Named Top Athletes for 2025

The AIPS (Association Internationale de la Presse Sportive) has announced the top athletes of 2025, following a vote by sports journalists from 121 countries.

Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis was named top male athlete for 2025, having broken the world record four times during the season. Carlos Alcaraz came in second, and Ousmane Dembélé third.

Spanish footballer Aitana Bonmati was named top female athlete, after being nominated in previous years. Beatrice Chebet was second and Aryna Sabalenka third.

Paris Saint-Germain was voted best team for 2025. The Greek women's national water polo team was also nominated but did not make the top ten.
