Sadness prevails in the journalistic world following the death of journalist Giorgos Papadakis, who passed away on Sunday, January 4th, at the age of 74. His death was caused by a severe heart attack he suffered in Kolonaki.

The journalist felt unwell and then lost consciousness. He was taken to Laiko Hospital, where doctors attempted to revive him with CPR, without success. Giorgos Papadakis had a history of heart problems and had suffered a heart attack in 2018 as well.

Giorgos Papadakis was born in Chalandri on February 4, 1951, and was originally from Crete. He was an emblematic figure in Greek television, presenting the morning news program "Kalimera Ellada" from 1992 to 2011, and later the show "Proino ANT1". He returned to presenting "Kalimera Ellada" in 2015, completing his cycle in 2025.
