PADYSY: Concerns over overcrowding in public hospitals

The General Nursing Staff Branch of PA.SY.D.Y. has expressed concern about the overcrowding in public hospitals due to increased admissions of patients with pneumological problems and influenza.
According to a statement, there are difficulties in managing admissions and long stays of patients in A&E departments, exceeding 24 hours due to a lack of beds. Nurses emphasize that this endangers patient safety and affects the quality of care.
PA.SY.D.Y. has sent a letter to the Management of OKYpY, requesting a meeting to address the crisis. It also expresses dissatisfaction with the delay in approving the OKYpY budget for 2026, which prevents the recruitment of nursing staff.
It calls on the competent Ministries to promote the budget to Parliament.
