A caregiver is facing charges for abusing an elderly man with dementia just days before his death. Bilikesu Olagunju, 42, was sentenced by Woolwich Crown Court to six weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and 50 hours of community service.

Olagunju, with only six days of experience, allegedly abused 88-year-old John Attard at his home in Bexley, Kent, on Christmas Eve 2022. Attard's son, Chris Attard, had installed a hidden camera which recorded the incident.

The video shows Olagunju dragging Mr. Attard, threatening him, and humiliating him. She also allegedly put jam in his coffee, despite knowing he was diabetic, and poured hot coffee on him.

Mr. Attard was found unconscious the next day and died ten days later. The sentence given to Olagunju has sparked outrage from the victim's family.
