March 29: Saints and Feast Day

Today, March 29, the Church commemorates Saint Mark, Bishop of Arethusa, the Martyrs Cyril the Deacon and his companions, and Saint Mary of Egypt. The Fifth Sunday of Lent is also celebrated.
The Fifth Sunday of Lent is dedicated to Saint Mary of Egypt, a symbol of repentance and spiritual rebirth. Her story highlights the power of repentance and life change.
Saint Mark, Bishop of Arethusa, lived during the reign of Emperor Julian the Apostate and bravely defended the Christian faith, enduring persecution and torture.
Cyril, a deacon, along with other believers, suffered a martyr's death for his faith.
