Hope and Care for Every Child with Cancer in Cyprus

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic of Archbishop Makarios III Hospital is the only specialized center in Cyprus providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents up to 18 years old with hematological and oncological diseases.

Each year, approximately 35 new cases of children and adolescents with malignant diseases are diagnosed. The most common forms are leukemia, lymphomas, and brain tumors.

The clinic implements international treatment protocols and collaborates with centers of excellence abroad, mainly in Germany and France.

The interdisciplinary team includes pediatric hematologists-oncologists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and educators.

Cyprus holds the first place in Europe in the survival of children aged 0–14 years for all childhood cancers, during the period 2010–2014, according to the EUROCARE-6 study.
