Dr. Nikos Ioannou: Farewell on Friday

The funeral of Dr. Nikos Ioannou, father of Interior Minister Konstantinos Ioannou, will take place on Friday, June 27. The funeral service will be held at the Holy Church of God Sophia in Strovolos at 17:30.

The family will receive condolences at the church from 16:30. The burial will take place at the cemetery of Ayioi Konstantinou and Elenis. The family requests that instead of wreaths, donations be made to Agia Skepi.

Dr. Nikos Ioannou served as President of the Pancyprian Medical Association and first President of the Health Insurance Organisation, and was a pioneer in the establishment and operation of the General Healthcare System.

The President of the Republic expressed his grief over the death of Dr. Nikos Ioannou, emphasizing his contribution to the establishment of the GHS and his service during the Turkish invasion in 1974.
