Andreas Galatis: 'The courage is to get up and fight again'

Andreas Galatis, 72 years old from Limassol, suffers from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and uses a portable oxygen cylinder. Despite his condition, he remains optimistic and active.
He was diagnosed with the disease five years ago and has been using oxygen for the last two and a half years. As he mentions, there is no cure, but he is taking medication to stabilize his condition.
Mr. Galatis, a former senior technician at Cyprus Airways, emphasizes that it is important for patients not to give up and to fight. He also mentions that he is social and meets friends and family, and visits his country house in Kakopetria.
From his youth, he was passionate about dancing and continues to dance zeibekiko, despite the difficulties. He believes that dancing should be spontaneous and express emotions.
Andreas Galatis mentions that he is close to the Church and draws strength from his faith, as well as from the support of his family. He sends a message to patients to ask for strength from God and to follow the instructions of doctors. He thanks his doctor, Alexis Papadopoulos.
