65 People Received Help from NHMA for Sexual Abuse

In its two years of operation, the NHMA Support and Therapy Center has provided assistance to 65 individuals who experienced sexual abuse or exploitation during their childhood.

At a press conference held by the Cyprus Family Planning Association, the Minister of Health, Michalis Damianos, described the initiative as "pivotal," emphasizing the support of the Ministry of Health.

NHMA provides psychological and social support, legal and medical guidance, as well as personalized treatment plans. It also implements information and education activities for the prevention of incidents.

Pantelitsa Nikolaou, Clinical Psychologist, stated that the center helps individuals overcome trauma and continue their lives. Maria Epaminonda, Executive Director of the Association, emphasized the creation of a safe space for therapy.
