22-year-old in ICU after burger challenge

A 22-year-old is hospitalized in critical condition in an ICU in Attica, after a challenge in which he attempted to swallow a burger without chewing it.

According to reports, the young man collapsed as his airways closed. He was rushed to the hospital where he was intubated.

Former president of EINAP, Matina Pagoni, speaking to Mega, described the incident as tragic and stressed the importance of first aid education.

"Let's hope there is improvement in the coming days, although the situation is difficult," said Ms. Pagoni.
