116 Products Flagged as Potentially Hazardous to Consumer Health

The European Rapid Alert System for Dangerous Products has notified 116 products posing risks to consumer health and safety. The Consumer Protection Service (ΥΠΚ) of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, as the competent authority in Cyprus, provides relevant information.
The products were identified in various markets of EU member states and notified to the Safety Gate RAPEX System. Of these, 17 were assessed by the European Commission as products of "serious risk".
The ΥΠΚ calls on importers, distributors, and sellers to immediately stop the distribution of the products and notify the Service. At the same time, it advises consumers to stop using the products and return them to the stores where they purchased them, informing the seller accordingly.
According to the Law on Certain Aspects concerning Contracts for the Sale of Goods of 2021, consumers are entitled to replacement or withdrawal in case of a non-compliant product, within two years of purchase. In case of refusal by the seller, consumers are invited to submit a written complaint to the ΥΠΚ.
