Vasilis Paiteris Arrested for Debt

Songwriter Vasilis Paiteris has been arrested and is being held in Larissa prison.

According to reports, the 75-year-old artist was arrested during a random police check in Larissa. It was found that there was an outstanding conviction against him for debt.

The conviction is related to an unpaid fine for urban planning violations regarding the construction of a building in Agia Varvara. His debts to the state amount to 500,000 euros.

Vasilis Paiteris has been in a dispute with the Municipality of Agia Varvara for years. In the past, he reportedly served part of his sentence through community service in the Municipalities of Palaio Faliro and Iliou.
