Makedos began his career in 1982, participating in films such as 'And the First Peeping Tom' and 'Commandos and Darlings'. He also worked on television, in the series 'Dolce Vita' and 'Something's Up with the Neighbors', as well as on the show 'Kalimera Ellada' with Giorgos Papadakis.
In 2006, he retired from acting and opened an optical shop in Kypseli. In an interview, he stated that he denied the title of actor.
