President Christodoulides stated that "we neither compromise nor forget what happened in 1974," speaking after the memorial service for those who fell during the Turkish invasion. He emphasized the need to end the occupation, liberate, and reunify Cyprus.

Referring to the Turkish demonstrations, President Christodoulides stressed that Turkey does not have the support of the international community. He also noted Antonio Guterres' efforts for the Athienou-Aglantzia passage but emphasized that the Secretary-General cannot impose his will on Turkey. He highlighted the active involvement of the European Union to put pressure on Ankara.
